This piston ring set is for use on all 1300cc Beetles and Karmann Ghia`s from 1966 to 1979 and 1200cc Beetles from 1972 to 1979 with 77mm diameter pistons.

These rings have a bore of 77mm with the oil ring at the bottom of the piston in this set is 4mm thick with the compression rings both measuring 2mm thick.

I have 1964 VW beetle it’s a 1200 cc 40 hp. It’s a 77mm want piston ring should I buy? I find that 2.5x2.5x 4.0 the spring one is too tight doesn’t move. Does this mean I need 2.0x2.0x 4.0 ? Thank you

No. The 'Spring' ring is the oil ring which is the same width in both of these kits.
