The easiest way to equip a Type-2 Bus (T2) from `68 to `79 with a Full-Flow System is to use the CSP Products Mainstream Oil Pump for Type-1 machines. Simply pull the old pump and replace it through the CSP product. Finished. No drilling, no disassembly of the motor housing!
Clean oil is extremely important for the air-cooled engines, but only has a not very effective filter at the factory. Therefore, the installation of a filter cartridge is absolutely recommended. The best option for this is a full-flow oil system, as here the oil passes directly from the oil pump to the oil filter and is thus filtered independently of the operating condition of the engine. It is also possible to connect an additional oil cooler via the CSP Products main flow oil pump or a combination of cooler and filter.
The high-quality 26 mm oil pump has specially designed oil channels for the best oil flow and an O-ring, which makes a lid seal superfluous. To ensure the fit of the cover specially developed for the T2 Bulli, the pump housing is equipped with two centering bushings.
The very elaborate pump cover consists of CNC machined aluminum and has a protective, hard anodized surface and two 3/8-NPT connections for the input and output. Its shape is designed to fit easily with all engine mounts used as standard on the second-generation bus.
