SOLD - This 1972 Deluxe Microbus has been imported from California. The bodywork and chassis is completely rust free with the exception of the front cab floor on both sides and the off side battery tray which have all rusted and need replacing. There is also rust around the windscreen which will need some attention. Apart from this the body is sound. Straight sides and front panel. Good doors, tailgate, engine lid etc.
The bus still retains all of it’s deluxe trim which is in good condition. The near side tail light lens has been damaged and needs replacing but apart from that all lenses are fine.
The engine is a 2000cc Type 4 model with original solex twin carburetors. The engine has not been tested so work may be required on it to get it running, although the previous owner did say that it was running when it was last used a year or so ago.
Inside you will find a 1/3 – 2/3 front bench seat in black vinyl and a full length bench seat in the rear. Door panels are all there. The headlining has a few tears in it but doesn’t look too bad. It still has two interior lights mounted in it but these have not been tested. The original rubber floor mat for the cargo floor is still there and in good condition.
The brakes on the van will need some attention as the bus is quite hard to push. This van will definitely need towing away and some TLC given to it. But that does reflect in the price. In general this bus is a good start for a part or full restoration.
