THE TEAM
Rob – Managing Director
Rob has accumulated a number a VW’s since first becoming interested in the scene and has worked on and restored them himself carrying out everything from welding, prep and paint to electrics and interior trim. Since being involved in the scene he has always wanted to create a company where the customer comes first and gets high quality parts for prices he would want to pay himself and is endeavouring to do just that. His aim is to collect as many of the vintage Volkswagens models as possible.
Rich – General Manager
Rich bought his first VW back in 1994 after going to various shows with friends and has owned many different types ever since. His favourites are his 1952 Zwitter Ragtop beetle and his 1960 23 Window Microbus deluxe. He has picked up a lot of experience from various different companies over the years on VW’s and early Porsche 911’s and 356’s and his next challenge is to find and restore a late 60’s 911.
Ray - Engineering Manager
Ray has been in the engineering game for around 40 years now and has put his hand to pretty much anything and suceeded in his goal. He now helps to develop various products for the VW scene through Cool Air. He leads a team of 6 engineers within the Cool Air Premises, designing and manufacturing all of the parts that Cool Air are bringing into the industry. From Adjustable and Narrowed Beams, Reconditioned Standard and Drop Spindles, Reconditioned Torsion Arms, Repair Panels, Beam Bearings and Devon edge Trim to name but a few. Look out for more new products about to hit our shelves in 2007. But he is not just an engineer! He is also a great lover of VW's and his daily driver is a 1973 Devon Type 2, but his pride and joy is his Award Winning fully restored 1961 15 Window Deluxe.
Sarah – Accounts Manager / Sales
Sarah has always shown an interest in VW’s ever since her (younger) brother Rob bought and restored his first vehicle and now enjoys learning as much as she can about all the different types and getting to the various shows through out the year, in between running the accounts department.
Rich (Trev) – Store Manager / Exhibition Manager
Rich or 'Trev' as he is known to his friends owns the blue bay window that you may have seen at many shows and is also featured in the Cool Air catalogue. He owned and restored his first beetle at the age of 15 and drove it for many years before buying and restoring the bay window to the condition you can see it in today. His daily driver is a 1978 twin sliding door baywindow bus.
Barry - Despatch dept
Barry joined the team in September 2005 and has helped the company progress greatly since working in the storage area and heading up the packing department team.
Christian - Sales
Christian’s a relative newcomer to the VW scene buying his first van in 2004, a rare 1977 twin slider panel van, which he has since uniquely customized and converted into a fully functioning camper. He’s a very enthusiastic show attendee and can be found at nearly all of the UK shows throughout the year either in his van or in the other half’s 1982 aircooled Wedge. His daily driver is a 1971 Bug.
Oli - Sales
Oli joined us in August 2006, wanting to learn everything there is to know about VW's. He currently owns an early tin-top bay window van in need of a full resto, which is currently living in france! |
