EMPI Chromoly 8mm Head Stud Kit - Type 1 Twin Port Engines

Heavy-duty chromoly head stud kit designed for all 1300cc–1600cc twin port aircooled VW engines using 8mm studs. Engineered to deliver approximately 200% greater strength than standard studs, this kit is ideal for performance builds, high compression engines and hard-driven vehicles.

Head studs play a critical role in clamping the cylinder heads to the crankcase. They must maintain consistent tension under extreme heat cycles and engine loads. Standard studs can stretch or fatigue over time, leading to loss of compression, oil leaks or head sealing issues. These chromoly studs are manufactured from high-grade alloy steel and precision machined to resist stretch and fatigue, ensuring even clamping force across all cylinders.

Designed to stock length for direct replacement, this kit fits dual port cylinder heads and works with standard cases using 8mm threads. Whether you are rebuilding a stock engine or building a high-performance unit, these studs provide the reliability needed under demanding conditions.
